Naamkaran: Intimate scenes between Barkha Bisht-Viraf Patel chopped off

New Delhi: Here comes a big news for Naamkaran fans! According to the reports, viewers will witness a major change in the upcoming episodes of the daily soap. 'Naamkaran' which is based on Mahesh Bhatt's blockbuster movie 'Zakhm' had some intimate scene shot between lead actors Barkha Bisht and Viraf Patel. Bollywood playback singer Arijit Singh had crooned classic song - Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo for the show which was filmed on the lead actors but it didn't go down well with the channel Star Plus. If reports of leading entertainment portal SpotBoyE are to be believed,  the channel said that as theirs being a family channel they should not show such steamy scenes. When the portal contacted Mahesh Bhatt, he confirmed the reports  and said, “Avni (the child) who is the central character of the show made inroads into the hearts of the viewers instantly. Her wounded origin made the audience empathise with her. The romance between Barkha who has a 10 year old child with Viraf did not grab the viewers. Therefore, we bowed down gracefully to the needs of the viewers and made this mid course correction. This mid course correction made a significant difference to the show. The TRP's went up. Now the narrative is Avni specific.” “Yes a sizeable number of episodes which were written have been crunched. But that was for the health of the show. We have a determined team which responded to the challenge bravely. Namkaran is on the right trajectory now," the filmmaker further added. It has also been reported that the lead actress of the show Barkha Bisht was disappointed with the removal of scenes as she believed shooting intimate scene requires lot of efforts. In the upcoming episodes, the show will focus only on the little child Avni.
