Indian Idol 12 Finale Winner: Pawandeep Rajan Wins Show, Takes Home A Swanky New Car & Rs 25 Lakh

Indian Idol 12 winner was announced in a star-studded finale on Sunday (August 15). Pawandeep Rajan defeated five other finalists to win the singing reality show.

Mumbai: It's time to send congratulatory messages to Pawandeep Rajan as he has emerged as the winner of 'Indian Idol 12'. The talented singer defeated Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Nihal Tauro, Sayli Kamble and Shanmukha Priya in a star-studded finale to lift the winner's trophy of the show.

Pawandeep Rajan, who hails from from Uttarakhand's Champawat, was declared as the winner during a blockbuster finale event, which ran for 12 long hours. The talented singer took a home a cash prize worth Rs. 25 lakhs and a Maruti Suzuki Swift car.

Pawandeep Rajan Opens Up Becoming 'Indian Idol 12' Winner

The versatile singer thanked the viewers for showering him with love and support throughout his journey on the show. He expressed his gratitude towards the fans for making him the winner of 'Indian Idol 2020'.

"Being a part of Indian Idol Season 12 was a dream come true and then being a part of Top 6 was just wonderous. Winning the title of Indian Idol Season 12 is just unbelievable for me. I still feel like I’m dreaming and cannot come to terms with reality. It’s still sinking in. This is such a big honor for me. I’d like to thank all my fans and the viewers who have voted for me and made me win this honorable title. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey on Indian Idol. From the makers to the musicians, our coaches and my fellow contestants, this trophy belongs to all of you. Thank you Indian Idol and the citizens of India. This feeling is the best and thank you so much," Pawandeep said in a statement.

Meet First & Second Runner-Up Of 'Indian Idol 12'

Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble have finished as as the first and second runners-up of 'Indian Idol 12' respectively. The two girls were awarded with a cheque of Rs. 5 lakhs.

Mohd. Danish and Nihal Tauro secured the fourth and fifth positions. They were presented with a cheque of Rs. 3 lakhs. The top six finalists received a cheque of Rs. 75,000  and several gift hampers.

The effervescent Pawandeep Rajan grew with every performance on the sets of 'Indian Idol 12'. He received lot and support from the viewers after showcasing his talent on the big stage. He continued to grow as an artist, surpassing everyone’s expectations. He performed in front of veterans from the music industry and impressed them with his mesmerizing performances. 

'Indian Idol 12' gave a platform to some of the talented playback singers, who have left a strong impression on the viewers. After weeks of grueling auditions and gala rounds, the show ended its glorious run on the small screen. The makers deemed it as the 'Greatest Finale Ever', creating a new benchmark in the TV industry. Guess what? More than 40 acts and over 200 songs were performed during the 12-hour long finale. The mega event proved to be a blockbuster event as fans are already looking forward to a new season.
