TV Actors Gautam Rode And Pankhuri Awasthy Expecting Twins: 'We Are Blessed'
Television actors Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy are all set to become parents soon. The couple, who announced their pregnancy last month, is expecting twins.
New Delhi: Television actors Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy are all set to become parents soon. The couple, who announced their pregnancy last month, is expecting twins. Pankhuri shared why they kept the news a secret and also spoke about the moment she got to know about twins.
In a conversation with ETimes, Pankhuri confirmed the news and said, "Gautam wanted to keep the news about having twins private. He felt it is something that the family should know and therefore we did not share it with everyone. However, every time when someone asked me about my baby, I always felt like saying 'babies'. Gautam and I are blessed that we are having twin babies."
She also spoke about the moment she first got to know about having twins. "When I was shooting in December, I did a test and came to know that I was pregnant but the doctor did not call me immediately for a test or a scan. I continued shooting and then had some complications, due to which Gautam and I had to rush to the doctor. And at that time, while the doctor was examining me, he said, 'I have to congratulate you twice,' and I replied saying, 'I knew it'. I had manifested this. I used to often tell Gautam how it would be great to have twins... we don't have to get pregnant again and in one pregnancy, you get two babies. So, when the doctor informed, I was extremely happy and felt blessed. Gautam, who was sitting behind me, looking at the monitor, was spellbound and had no words,” she told ETimes.
On May 15, the couple held their baby shower, which was attended by friends including Shivangi Joshi, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Rohit Verma, Nigaar Khan and others. Pankhuri wore a pastel saree while Gautam sported a green shirt and black jeans.
Gautam and Pankhuri got married on February 5, 2018.
On the work front, Pankhuri is known for being part of TV shows such as 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', 'Gud Se Meetha Ishq', among others. On the other hand, Gautam worked in 'Baa Bahoo Aur Baby', 'Lucky', 'Saraswatichandra', 'Suryaputra Karn', and many more.
