‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ actor Anas Rashid makes a SEXIST comment on his Wife-to-be

New Delhi: Star Plus show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ actor Anas Rashid is going to get married very soon. Recently we reported that actor is all set to tie knot very soon and it’s confirmed. Anas’s family found a suitable wife for her in 24-year-old Heena who is from Malerkotla, Punjab. But she is living in Chandigarh from last 6 years. He also said that he is okay with marrying a girl 14 years younger to him. Now has landed himself in trouble. When HT asked Anas why he didn’t marry someone from the television industry, he said, “Everything happened very quickly. I am working in this industry aur agar bahu bhi kaam karegi, toh ghar pe kaun rahega, (I am working in the industry and if my wife will also work then who will stay at the home). For my family, the fact that I am working in this industry is enough.” Now this is quite a sexist remark and that too in century where we talk about women empowerment. It is quite ironic also that Anas Rashid was part of a show where his wife Sandhya Rathi aka Deepika Singh worked while fighting against all odds and he was played the role of a supporting husband Sooraj Rathi in the show. While speaking to HT, he revealed that Heena works as an HR in the immigration sector. He said she is a modern and independent girl and it’s totally upto her whether she wants to continue working in the same field or change. Well Anas, we hope that you total freedom to your wife to choose whatever she wants to do in her life.
