New Delhi: 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' fame Devoleena Bhattacharjee shocked everyone by announcing her engagement on Wednesday. The actor tied the knot with Shanwaz Shaikh, a gym trainer by profession. The two have been dating for the past three years and have been friends for more than seven years. Since she had back surgery earlier this year, Shanwaz has supported her through all of her medical challenges and has assisted her in standing up again.
Recently, videos have been surfacing on social media where the newlyweds are busy with their post-wedding rituals and are playing some fun games together. In one of the videos, Devoleena is seen clutching onto her husband as she wept in joy.

The actor started sharing the photos and videos soon after their wedding. The photos also included those of pre-wedding rituals. They have garnered a lot of views and comments from netizens. Giving insights about the wedding, Hindustan Times reported that the reception will happen in January. "The couple is expected to host a reception in Mumbai soon. It will mostly be held in the first week of January, after December 25. They are not going on a honeymoon right now, and have pushed their plans at the moment."
Devoleena chose a sheer red saree for her wedding attire, accessorised it with golden and silver jewellery, and Kaleeras to create an ethereal image. Shanwaz, on the other hand, went for an all-black outfit. In the second outfit that was worn by the couple, Shanwaz appeared in a brown suit, and Devoleena was clad in a sequined saree.
