COVID-19: Kapil Sharma Donates Rs 50 Lakh To PM Relief Fund To #FightAgainstCoronavirus
Kapil Sharma took to Twitter and Instagram to announce that he has donated Rs 50 lakh to Prime Minister's relief fund to fight Coronavirus pandemic.
New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill, forcing the people to stay indoors. PM Narendra Modi had announced a 2-day nationwide lockdown to combat COVID-19. Several Bollywood and TV celebs applauded PM’s move and urged their fans to strictly follow the lockdown and practice social distancing.
Kapil Sharma, who is tickling the funny bone of the audience with ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, has contributed Rs 50 lakh to the PM relief fund. The comedy king took to Twitter and Instagram to announce that he has contributed a generous amount to fight against Coronavirus.
“It's time to stand together with the ones who need us. Contributing Rs.50 lakhs to the PM relief fund towards the #fightagainstcorona. Request everyone to #stayhome #staysafe #jaihind #PMrelieffund @narendramodi,” Kapil wrote.
Kapil Sharma had earlier shared a post, asking his followers to contribute their bit to sponsor the essential food supplies for the daily wage workers. He requested people to sponsor ration bags for those, who have been affected the most due to the lockdown.
"I whole heartily support this noble initiative. Happy to contribute for this humanitarian cause. While staying safe at home i urge every one else also to contribute online- www.iahv.org/in-en/donate/. #iStandWithHumanity #ArtOfLiving #BMC," Kapil wrote.
Tollywood superstars including Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan have also donated to the government’s relief funds to combat COVID-19 spread. Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan extended a helping hand and provided N95 masks to the BMC workers and caretakers.
The 'War' actor took to Twitter to write, “In times such as these, we must do whatever we can to ensure the safety of the most fundamental caretakers of our city and society. I have procured N95 and FFP3 masks for our BMC workers and other caretakers.".
"My gratitude to Aditya Thackeray and Shri Praveen Pardeshi for giving me the opportunity to support the Maharashtra govt in their endeavour to curb the pandemic. It is our duty to help in whatever capacity we can,” Hrithik further tweeted.
