Malayalam Director Siddique Death: Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Prithviraj And Others Pay Tribute

Siddique, a seasoned Malayalam director, passed away on Tuesday, following a heart attack. Siddique had been receiving treatment for a number of diseases for a while.

New Delhi: Siddique, a seasoned Malayalam director, passed away on Tuesday. Siddique had been receiving treatment for a number of diseases for a while. Following a heart arrest, his condition deteriorated, according to news agency ANI. According to ANI, his funeral would be held in Kochi on Wednesday. On social media, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and other actors paid respect to the late director.

Condoling the director's death, Mammootty tweeted in Malayalam, which roughly translates to, "Continuous departures of very dear ones...while experiencing the unbearable pain it causes... Homage to dear Siddique."

Actor Dulquer Salmaan penned a heartfelt note on Siddique's death, paying his tribute to the popular director and actor as he wrote, "The gentlest soul. The kindest human. A gifted writer/director. The most incredible humor hiding behind his soft demeanour. He gave us some of the most iconic films. Part of our pop culture and referred to in our everyday conversations. This is an immeasurable loss. Prayers and strength to Siddique Sir's family and loved ones."

Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his Instagram stories to pay tribute to the actor and wrote, "Rest In Peace Sir."

Siddique (63), who was suffering from a number of illnesses at the hospital, including pneumonia and liver problems, experienced a heart attack on Monday.

The director, who has directed a number of hugely successful Malayalam films, had been receiving treatment at the private hospital for more than a month.

Together with his friend Lal, Siddique produced a number of successful films, and the two became known as "Siddique-Lal."

Lal himself had been in a number of successful films, including "Thenkasipattanam," "Thommanum Makkalum," and "Salt and Pepper."

A number of "Siddique-Lal" films, including "Ramji Rao Speaking," "In Harihar Nagar," "Godfather," "Vietnam Colony," and "Kabooliwala," were huge successes.

In addition, Siddique directed popular films including "Hitler," "Friends," "Chronic Bachelor," and "Bodyguard," among others.

He also directed the Hindi version of his blockbuster film "Bodyguard," which starred Salman Khan. It was known as "Kavalan" in Tamil and starred Vijay. It did well at the box office.
