GOAT Box Office Collection Day 1: The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), starring Thalapathy Vijay, has become the greatest Tamil opener with a total domestic opening of more than Rs 50 crore.
GOAT Box Office Collection Day 1: The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), starring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Venkat Prabhu, saw a record-breaking start at the box office. Sacnilk reports that the highly anticipated espionage thriller made more than Rs 50 crore on its first day in India. The film was premiered in more than 4,000 theatres throughout the globe.
The phenomenal success of ‘GOAT’ was evident on its opening day, when it achieved an astounding occupancy rate of 76.23% in theatres throughout India. ‘GOAT’ had a solid opening day, earning Rs 1.7 crore in Hindi, and Rs 3 crore in Telugu. The Tamil shows contributed the most to the total, bringing in Rs 38.3 crore. This is the third Thalapathy Vijay film to surpass the Rs 50 crore barrier on its opening day.
‘GOAT’ has become the greatest Tamil opener with a total domestic opening of Rs 55 crore throughout India. With this achievement, it surpasses the ranks of great Kollywood blockbusters. The film managed to earn more on its opening day than past Tamil successes like ‘Jailer’ (Rs 37.6 crore), and ‘Vikram’ (Rs 29 crore).
Although official figures are still pending, the total international collection of Vijay starrer might have already exceeded Rs 100 crore.

Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu's 'GOAT' has Vijay in a double role. Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Mohan, Sneha, Jayaram, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Ajmal Ameer are among the many notable figures in the supporting cast. Yuvan Shankar Raja created the music for ‘GOAT’, which was produced by AGS Entertainment.
After completing his next film, Thalapathy 69, which is being directed by H Vinoth, Vijay had already stated that he may enter into politics, hence ‘GOAT’ is believed to be his last film.
