New Delhi: Tamil star Vijay's 'GOAT' is all set for a grand release on September 5, 2024. As fans anticipate the release of the big film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, Vijay's GOAT is doing exceedingly well in the advance sales figure in India and abroad . The film also made history by featuring in the Leicester Square billboard, the world-famous outdoor screen.

Vijay's film is an action thriller, which has been directed by Venkat Prabhu. In the film, Vijay will be seen as a R&AW agent in a mission that has been ongoing for years. 

'GOAT' has become the first South Indian film to occupy the prestigious screen and this also explains the anticipation for the film in the UK, amid fans outside India. 

The film stars Vijay in dual roles and also includes Prashanth, Prabhu Devam Ajmal Ameer, Mohan and Meenakshi Chaudhary in key roles. 

'GOAT' also happens to be Vijay's 68th and penultimate film before his entry into politics. 

The film has been shot across the length and breadth of India and in Thailand, Sri Lanka,Russia and the USA.

GOAT UK advance bookings sales

 

As per reports, the uncut version of 'GOAT' will be streaming in theatres across the UK, and the film will be released in over 300 screens. In India, the film will be released across 5000 screens.

In the UK, Vijay's film reportedly earned aroudn $400k from the premieres in the UK and is expected to surpass the $1 million mark before the end of the first weekend. 

'GOAT' has already surpassed $1.5 million in pre-sales abroad for the opening day, and the film is expected to have a bumper opening at the box office.

India: GOAT advance bookings & estimated box office report day 1

In India, 'GOAT' has already sold 3.68 lakh tickets for the opening day, with a gross of Rs. 7.94 cr as per Sacnilk.com. In addition to reserved seats, the total tally stands at Rs. 10.52 cr, making it rank among the highest pre-sales figures for a Tamil film in 2024.

With the ongoing trend, 'GOAT' will soon beat as the Tamil film to have the biggest advance booking numbers this year, beating 'Indian 2'.

'GOAT' has sold 3.64 lakh tickets in the Tamil market along with 1637 from IMAX, the other Rs. 2.4 lakh has come from the Telugu market. 

As per reports, 'GOAT' is looking at a Rs. 40 cr nett opening in India, with over Rs. 20 cr gross from the advance bookings alone. While 'GOAT' will enjoy a monopoly in the Southern markets, 'Stree 2' is expected to give the action-thriller a stiff comeptition in the Hindi belt.

'GOAT' marks Vijay's first ever film with Venkat Prabhu. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for the film, which will be released on Sep 5 worldwide.
