Pakistani Actors Demand Ban On Feroze Khan After His Ex-Wife Shares Domestic Violence Evidence
Feroze Khan and Syeda Aliza Sultan announced their divorce, with Syeda citing many charges of domestic abuse, infidelity and blackmail in her statement.
New Delhi: Pakistani actor Feroze Khan and Syeda Aliza Sultan announced their divorce in September, with Syeda citing many charges of domestic abuse, infidelity and blackmail in her statement. Now they're in a legal battle over who gets to keep their kids, Mohammed Sultan Khan and Fatima Khan.
Pictures of Syeda Aliza's injured hands and eyes were offered as proof of domestic abuse by her attorney. She experienced physical violence throughout their four-year marriage, as seen by these disturbing images that have just gone popular online.
Following widespread criticism, Feroze Khan published a statement refuting the claims made against him. He wrote a long note on Instagram which reads: “I, Feroze Khan vehemently deny any and all baseless, malicious and untruthful allegations which have been levelled against me and are circulating on the social media rumour mill. These allegations have no basis in truth or reality. I intend to institute legal proceedings against the perpetrators of these actions and have instructed my legal team accordingly. I would categorically like to state that I have always followed the law in its true letter and spirit and have never knowingly hurt another human being. I strongly believe in all human rights of every human inhabiting planet earth. FK”
Since the allegations broke, some Pakistani celebrities have spoken out in Aliza's favour.
Asim Azhar took to Twitter to express his support for Aliza, writing: "Domestic violence is unacceptable. No if's and but's. No 'other side of the story'. Takes a lot of strength to speak up. Praying for Aliza and her family.”
Actress Ushna Shah wrote, "I am still processing this and I am in a state of shock. Nothing can and will justify violence against a woman. My heart is with Alizah as well as Sultan, and Fatima."
Famous actress Iqra Aziz also supported Aliza in an Instagram post.
Meanwhile, Sarwat Gilani wrote, “Ban wife beaters and cheaters from representing our industry!”
For those unaware, Aliza and Khan's breakup was widely reported online before the pair officially announced it. Aliza now has custody of the couple's children. Feroze has initiated legal proceedings in the family court to seek custody of and visitation rights for his children.
