Shriya Pilgaonkar On The Response She Has Received:

Shriya Pilgaonkar, who portrays the complex character Radha, has garnered widespread acclaim for her portrayal. In Season 2, Shriya's character undergoes a profound transformation, navigating through a range of emotions from anger and vulnerability to determination and strength. What sets Shriya apart as a performer is her ability take her stand and delve into the depths of her character, even when faced with challenging narrative arcs.

Talking about this transition in her character graph and how the audience perceived it, Shriya said, "I'll be honest, I was a little nervous about how people would react to Radha's graph because it's very extreme, and her behaviour too. But I'm so happy that people also saw her with empathy and at the same time, it's nice if people were not happy or hated some of the things that she did, because as a performer that's what I wanted. I wanted to shake you up with what my character wants to do."

"So, I'm really happy with the response to it and the director and the writers played a big role in extracting this performance. This is the first time that I actually got a chance to explore a graph, you know, which is sort of as wild," she added.

Talking about whether she had expected such a response, Shriya said, "Honestly, I knew that the script was very good, but as I said, I was a little nervous about how the audience would react to my character because up until now the characters that I have played overall, have not really been disliked for their actions, right? So I was not sure about how people would view it."

"But honestly, I'm really glad that considering the backstory of my character, people lapped it up. And I think the best thing is that people hadn't seen me in an avatar like this. There's so much that my character goes through which was really fun to explore and portray on screen. And I'm really happy and relieved that people enjoyed it. In fact, I feel like season 2 has been loved so much that it's brought in more audience even for season 1. So I'm happy that I could surprise people because I don't think people were expecting this character graph for Radha." she added.

Shriya Pilgaonkar On Fake News And Social Media Trolls:

'The Broken News' deals with media propaganda and the way news is twisted for TRPs. Even in real life, we come across a lot of fake news and social media trolling.

Shriya said, "As a responsible person, I think I'm not somebody who believes everything I read easily. I think it's everyone's responsibility to verify the news, to make sure it's authentic, and to just not rely on one source because, today with phones and social media, everybody's a journalist."

Talking about trolling, Shriya said, "Sometimes on Instagram, people can just troll you for pointless things. But I haven't had any scandalous things, luckily, written or anything like that. I'm quite a private person. And in general, I think if people have to say something about you, they will do that anyway. Most of the time, the trolls just want to seek attention. And it's best not to give it to them. You know, sometimes you need to just develop a thick skin. And as time passes, you just get better at handling things."

"Luckily, I haven't faced too much of it. But I would say that people on social media, as much love as they give you, if they feel like they want to pull you down, they do it. I think you need to understand what is important to you, and where you need your validation from. And I don't think you need to try and please everybody. You need to understand what's important to you. Sometimes there'll be many voices in your head, and you need to stick to the voice that feels most authentic to you and to deal with that. You got to take things with a pinch of salt and focus on what actually matters," she added.

As Shriya Pilgaonkar continues to captivate audiences with her talent and versatility, her journey in the world of entertainment promises to be an exciting one, filled with many more memorable performances and groundbreaking roles. Presently, she has 'Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai' in her pipeline.
