Woah! Saif Ali Khan to play a Naga Sadhu in his next film ‘Hunter’

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s web series ‘Sacred Games’, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui  and Radhika Apte, has received rave reviews from the critics and fans. The ‘Cocktail’ star has been applauded for his brilliant performance as police inspector Sartaj Singh. The actor has been spotted sporting long hair and a beard for quite some now. Speculations were rife that Saif has kept the look for his new project and it seems the rumours are true. The ‘Race’ actor will be seen as a Naga sadhu in his upcoming film titled- ‘Hunter’. The ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ actor in a recent interaction with a leading daily revealed that the film which is set in 1780 would see him in the role of a Naga Sadhu. Saif informed that the film in set in Rajasthan and action thriller is being helmed by Navdeep Singh. "Don’t get ideas." (laughs) "I wear clothes even though I shouldn’t be because Naga means 'nanga'. My character is a failed Naga sadhu, who has strong notions of revenge. The film is a drama set in Rajasthan. I even got my ears pierced for the role, which I was worried about initially. My hair has grown a lot. It bothered me throughout summer, when I was shooting in Rajasthan’s sweltering heat. It took me 40 minutes to two hours sometimes to just get into hair and make-up for the part,’’ Saif Ali Khan told Times Of India. ( Saif & Radhika in a still from Sacred Games, Source- Facebook) Saif also said that although is role in ‘Hunter’ is weird but the experience was quite enriching. “I’ve always felt that there is one entity that is giving me things that I don’t deserve. That’s how I feel for the role, also. It’s too good to be true and it’s a complete experience. And though it takes ridiculous two hours of make-up and hair, it’s like the journey of a character in a Westerner (a Western film), who goes into another space all together with his experiences. It’s so fulfilling to watch old forts in Rajasthan come alive because of these shoots,’’ the actor told TOI. Saif Ali Khan was last seen on the silver screen in ‘Kaalakaandi’ which did decent business at the box office. Interestingly, the actor has already played the rustic character of Langda Tyagi in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Omkara’ and we are now looking forward to see him in the role of a Naga Sadhu. Grapevines are also buzzing with the rumours that Saif might team up with his daughter Sara Ali Khan for a film to be directed by Nitin Kakkar. The 24-year-old actress will make her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kedarnath' opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Watch this space for more updates!
