79-year-old actor Dinyar Contractor passed away due to old age related illness.

Veteran actor & comedian Dinyar Contractor, who was seen in many Bollywood films like ‘Baazigar’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Baadshah’ and ‘36 China Town’, is no more. Dinyar Contractor passed away today (5th June) early morning at the age of 79. The actor, who died due to old age related illness, will reportedly be cremated today at Worli prayer hall at 3:30 pm in Mumbai. Dinyar Contractor started his career as a theatre artist and acted in mnay Gujarati and Hindi plays. Apart from films, the talented actor was also seen in many popular TV shows like ‘Khichdi’, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ among others and was last seen in SAB TV’s ‘Bh Se Bhade’. Actor-politican Smriti Irani shared her condolences on social media. She tweeted, “He brought bursts of laughter with him wherever he went, he lit up the screen and our lives with his wit & charm. We will miss your presence Dinyar bhai. Rest in Peace Padma Shri Dinyar Contractor – theatre legend, actor par excellence May his soul rest in peace!
