Jersey Release Date: Shahid Kapoor's Sports Drama To Hit Silver Screens On December 31

Shahid Kapoor's much-awaited film will arrive in the cinema halls on December 31, 2021.

'Jersey' Gets New Release Date

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen in the role of a cricketer in 'Jersey', has announced the new release of his much-awaited film. It is turning out to be a blockbuster Saturday as the makers of several movies have revealed the release dates, a day after the Maharashtra government announced that cinema halls will reopen I the state from October 22, 2021. 

‘Jersey’ Release Date 

Shahid took to social media to reveal the new release date of ‘Jersey’. The sports drama will hit the silver screens on December 31. It was initially slated to release on November 5 along with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Prithviraj’. With ‘Jersey’ and ‘Prithviraj’ releasing on two separate dates, the big box office clash has been averted. 

Kapoor shared a still from the film to announce the release date. The 'Kabir Singh' actor wrote, "JERSEY releasing 31st December 2021."

'Jersey' Cast

The film, which has been directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, also stars Pankaj Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in key roles. Shahid is working with his father Pankaj after 'Mausam'. Movie buffs are quite excited for 'Jersey' as it is the Hindi remake of Telugu film of the same name.

Jersey Vs Prithviraj Clash Averted

Earlier in the day, YRF Films announced that 'Prithviraj' will arrive in the cinema halls on January 21, 2022. The period epic drama will mark the Bollywood debut of former Miss World Manushi Sharma. The film also stars Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt.

Films Which Will Release In Upcoming Months

After waiting for over one-and-a-half year, audience will finally get to watch 'Sooryavanshi' in the theatres. The action drama starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will release on Diwali 2021.  Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' will hit the silver screens on November 19 while Ranveer Singh's 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' will entertain the fans from February 25, 2022.

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's highly-anticipated flick 'Laal Singh Chaddha' will release on Valentine's Day 2022.
