'Sanju' PIPS 'Tiger Zinda Hai' to become the fourth highest grosser of all time
Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Sanju’, which hit the silver screens on June 29, has become the fourth highest grossing film of all times. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial has crossed the lifetime collections of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ to emerge as the fourth highest earning Bollywood film. The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film had collected Rs 339.16 crore when it released last year. Talking about ‘Sanju’, the Sanjay Dutt biopic minted Rs 1.15 crore on day 31 to take the total box office collection to Rs 339.75 crore.
‘Sanju’has been on a record breaking spree since the day it released. The film became the highest opener of the year by minting Rs 34.75 crore. The flick managed to win the hearts of the audience and cemented Ranbir as one of the leading actors in Bollywood.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Sanju’s box office collection on Twitter. He mentioned that the film is now eyeing to break the record of Aamir Khan’s 'PK', which earned Rs 340.8 crore at the box office.
Trade pundits were expecting ‘Sanju’ to do quite well and the film surpassed all the expectations and set the box office on fire. Here’s a look at Sanju Box Office collection week wise. The film is the second 2018 release after Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Padmaavat’ to cross the Rs 300 crore mark. ‘Sanju’ is giving the other films a run for their money despite releasing over a month ago at the box office. Interestingly, Ram Gopal Varma has announced that he will also make a biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life, which will focus on the 'Khalnayak' actor’s arrest in 1993.
