Here Are Some Iconic Dialogues From Rishi Kapoor’s Films

As we say goodbye to the legendary actor Rishi Kapoor, let's take a look at some of his memorable film dialogues.

New Delhi: The iconic actor Rishi Kapoor who passed away this morning has given us many memorable films. After debuting in Bobby (1973), a teenage love story, he continued to feature as a romantic lead in most films. But recently his projects were more varied and he experimented with his roles even playing a gangster in D- Day. Here is a look at some top dialogues from his films Bobby One of the most famous dialogue is what Raj tells Bobby,‘Koi pyaar kare toh tumse kare, tum jaise ho waise kare. Koi tumko badal kar pyaar kare toh woh pyaar nahin, sauda hai’ (If you have to love then one should love you, just the way you are. If someone loves you by changing you, then it is not loving but just a deal) The quintessential film about teenage romance, this film created a pop culture revolution with its fashion choices and its stand on class barriers. The dialogues of Raj (Rishi Kapoor) and Bobby (Dimple Kapadia) hinted at the innocence of the young lovers but also their determination to fight against all difficulties. Raj says this to display the intensity of his love and respect for Bobby. Tea lovers will remember Raj saying, ‘Garmi mein garam chai, thandak pahunchati hai’ Chandni Hum Delhi waale mulk ke saath saath ... dil pe bhi hukumat karna jaante hai Most Delhiites will probably reiterate the sentiments in this dialogue which can also be considered as a take on the age-old saying ‘ Dilwalon ki Dilli’ Also Watch: Top 10 Songs of Late Actor Rishi Kapoor Damini ‘Jee karta hai ... tumhari har khwaish, har ichcha ko apna maqsad bana loon What makes Rishi Kapoor such a remarkable romantic lead is the way he delivers such dialogues. This one is from the Damini which about a lone woman’s fight for justice. In the film, Rishi Kapoor’s character falls in love with the spirited Damini (Meenakshi Sheshadri) and later marries her despite his family’s reservations. Later in the film, he is the husband who is caught between a rock and a hard place and his love for his wife gives him courage. D- Day Bikte toh sabhi hai ... kuch paiso se kuch jazbaat se The 2013 film is about an Intelligence officer and his team’s hunt for Goldman, India's most wanted terrorists. Unlike most of his jovial film roles, Kapoor evokes the cool gangster in D- Day. In a scene with Late Irrfan Khan, the gangster shows his slickness in judging human nature. Shuddh Desi Romance Yeh joh darr hota hai na ... aadmi ko janwar banne se rokta hai The film explores the views of the younger generation on commitment, live-in relationships, and arranged marriages as compared to love marriages in small-town India. Kapoor plays the wise-cracking uncle that is perplexed by the complicated relationship of the younger generation. Deewana "Pyar ek aisi cheez hai . aadmi toh aadmi, janwar bhi dost ban jaata hai" This film is about life-giving a second chance to find love. After Kajal’s (Divya Bharti) husband Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) is murdered she finds love in Raja (Shah Rukh Khan). Rishi Kapoor speaks about the universal quality of love proving that he can take the role of the romantic hero to the next level.
