The trailer of ‘Raid 2’, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead, was released on Tuesday, offering a sneak peek into a gripping world of corruption, ambition, and moral warfare. As a follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2018 hit ‘Raid’, the sequel appears to raise the bar with sharper tension and even higher stakes.

Raid 2 trailer

Ajay Devgn steps back into the shoes of the unwavering Income Tax officer Amay Patnaik, a role that earned him wide acclaim in the original. This time, however, the challenges are greater, with a formidable new adversary entering the picture—Dadabhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh.

The trailer showcases a tense game of cat and mouse between Devgn and Deshmukh. Packed with suspense and drama, the clip hints at an electrifying narrative, promising a showdown between two fierce forces. Devgn returns with his signature gravitas, while Deshmukh’s portrayal of a powerful, manipulative politician offers a refreshing and menacing contrast. As Dadabhai, he exudes both charm and menace, making for a chilling rival to the upright tax officer.

“Magic with mass & a world beyond imagination! #AA22. Teaming up with @Atlee_dir garu for something truly spectacular with the unparalleled support of @sunpictures,” Devgn shared during the announcement.

About Raid 2

The film’s plot centers on what is said to be Amay Patnaik’s 75th raid—an audacious operation targeting Deshmukh’s character, which paves the way for a battle of wits, power, and pride.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first film, ‘Raid 2’ continues to draw from real-life incidents involving high-profile income tax raids. The story once again shines a light on the behind-the-scenes work of IT officers and their coordination with intelligence agencies to expose financial crimes.

Announced back in April 2020, the film was shot across various Indian locations including Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan in early 2024.

Backed by producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with Panorama Studios.

The film is slated to hit the big screen on May 1, 2025.
