NTR biopic: Woah! THIS actress to play late Sridevi in the film!

The cast of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Vidya Balan starrer NTR biopic is getting bigger and better with every passing day. While we know that Balakrishna and Vidya are playing the respective roles of N.T.R and Basavatarakam (NTR’s first wife), the name of the actress playing late Sridevi was yet to be revealed by the makers. The ‘Sadma’ actress had worked in 14 movies with NTR, including Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamaari Bharthalu and Rowdi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu. The makers of the film have finally found the perfect actress to reprise late Sridevi’s role in the upcoming film. Any guesses, who the actress is? She is none other than Rakul Preet. The beautiful actress was last seen in Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Aiyaary’.

Rakul Preet, while talking to a leading daily, described it as the most challenging role of her career. The ‘Spyder’ actress called late Sridevi a legend and said that recreating her role for the first time on the silver screen is a big responsibility. "Unfortunately, I never met Srideviji, but I am going to be watching a few of her films as suggested by the makers, to get the body language right. I will be working on my role and there will be a series of look tests to get the part right," Rakul told Times Of India. The 27-year old actress further stated that she will meet the people associated with the veteran actress to prepare for the role. "On the whole, I am really excited about the project and I know all eyes will be on me because for the first time someone is going to play Srideviji in a film. I was really excited when I heard the part and the role has shaped up really well. I am going to do extensive homework before I start shooting for the film," Rakul further told TOI.
