Mission Raniganj Box Office Collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar Starrer Slows Down At Box Office; Earns Rs 18 Crore In First Week

Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Raniganj' has made a total of Rs 16.9 crores at the worldwide box office so far.

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Mission Raniganj’ has been out in theatres for almost a week now, and so far the film has not made much of an impact on the box office. Taking a dip in the film box office collection, 'Mission Raniganj' has made a total of Rs 16.9 crores at the worldwide box office so far, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshika Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor, 'Mission Raniganj's The Great Bharat Rescue', which was released last week, has so far collected just over ₹18 crore in India. The Akshay Kumar starrer opened at Rs 2.8 crore on the domestic market and made Rs 5 crore on the third day, which was a Sunday. Since then, the film's collections have been steadily declining. The film's domestic collection on the sixth day was Rs 1.30 crore, and the movie earned Rs 1.3 crore nett in India on its seventh day, as per early estimates.

Recently, Akshay spoke to ANI about the story behind his recently released film ‘Mission Raniganj'. He told the news agency ANI that’ Mission Raniganj’ is composed of seventy-one miners who were trapped 300 feet down in the coal mine. The engineer who was present at the time of the trapped miners was 'Sardar' Jaswant Singh Gill. Several people from France and the United Kingdom also visited the site. They all claimed that it was impossible to extract the miners from the mine, as there were nearly a trillion gallons of water filled with carbon dioxide-sorted filling.

In the film, Akshay portrays the role of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission in November 1989. It also stars Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, and many others in major roles.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s action thriller film ‘Singham 3'. The actor was last seen in 'Omg 2', which was released in August this year.
