'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' Shoot Stalled Till Mid-December After Film's Stars Test Positive For COVID-19

'Jug Jugg Jeeyo': Varun Dhawan, Neetu Singh and director Raj Mehta have tested positive for Coronavirus. The shoot was halted after the trio's COVID-19 test report came out as positive.

New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic brought the world to a standstill, affecting the functioning of several countries. The COVID-19 crisis severely impacted the entertainment industry as several TV shows went off air and films got delayed. The makers of films like 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo', 'Atrangi Re' and 'Bhoot Police' have started shooting for their respective projects after certain restrictions were lifted. Last month, the cast and crew of Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' also commenced the shoot for the upcoming film. Things were running smoothly until Varun Dhawan and Neetu Singh tested positive for COVID-19. The film's director Raj Mehta was also found infected with the virus. Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor have tested negative for Coronavirus. Kapoor took to his Instagram to squash all the rumours and inform his fans about his test report. He also thanked his fans for their concern and good wishes. They have isolated themselves in Chandigarh, where they were shooting. The tinsel town stars are following all the necessary protocols suggested by the government. Anil Kapoor has already returned to Mumbai while Kiara will fly back on Saturday (December 5), the report added. The makers had plans to shoot in Chandigarh till December 24; however, they were forced to put the shoot on halt after the actors were diagnosed with the virus. The team is expected to resume shoot by mid-December after everyone recovers from the virus. "Varun, Neetu and Raj will take a repeat test and once everyone tests negative and recovers, the shoot will resume, hopefully, by mid-December," a source told Mumbai Mirror. The makers shot for wedding sequence a couple of days back with a crowd. It is believed that the three celebs might have contracted the virus during the shoot, the report said.
'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' is being directed by Raj Mehta, who helmed Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer 'Good Newwz'. The comedy drama, which released last year, emerged as a box office hit.
