New Delhi: After a powerful performance in ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid Kapoor is all set to return to the big screens with his upcoming movie ‘Jersey’. The actor will be seen portraying the role of a cricketer in ‘Jersey’ and the movie stars Mrunal Thakur in the female lead.

Fans of Shahid Kapoor have been eagerly waiting for the trailer and finally, after a long wait, the makers of ‘Jersey’ have released the trailer of this movie.

The trailer takes the audience into the life of a former cricketer played by Shahid Kapoor and his wife played by Mrunal Thakur. It is a tug of war between the protagonist’s love for family, the various complications he faces and his passion for cricket. With the dream of representing team India one day and to fulfil his son’s wish for jersey as a gift, a man in his mid-30s returns to cricket.

Other than Shahid and Mrunal, ‘Jersey’ also features Pankaj Kapur in a pivotal role. The glimpse of the powerful performance by the entire cast in the trailer of ‘Jersey’ makes it one of the most-awaited movies of the year.

Yesterday, the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor shared a post and revealed the that they have waited 2 years to share this emotion with the audience. He shared a poster and wrote, “ITS TIME ! We have waited to share this emotion with you for 2 years. This story is special. This team is special. This character is special. And the fact that we get to share it on the big screen with you all is special. I don’t have words to express my gratitude. I hope you all feel what I felt when I played him. Here we go”.

‘Jersey’ is all set to release in theatres on December 31, 2021. The sports drama written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is the remake of the 2019 movie of the same name, where Nani played the role of the protagonist.
