‘Gorkha’: Akshay Kumar Thanks Ex Officer Who Pointed Out Mistake In Film’s Poster

A day after the poster release of the movie, an ex Gorkha officer pointed out a mistake in the movie’s poster.

New Delhi: On the occasion of Dussehra this year, Akshay Kumar announced his upcoming movie ‘Gorkha’, based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo. The ‘Ram Setu’ actor shared the first look of the movie on his social media.

A day after the poster release of the movie, an ex Gorkha officer pointed out a mistake in the movie’s poster. Maj Manik M Jolly pointed out that the Khukri used in the poster of the movie is not exactly right. He said that Khukri’s edge is on the other side and is not a sword.

Maj Manik M Jolly tweeted, “Dear @akshaykumar ji, as an ex Gorkha officer, my thanks to you for making this movie. However, details matter. Kindly get the Khukri right. The sharp edge is on the other side. It is not a sword. Khukri strikes from inner side of blade. Ref pic of Khukri att. Thanks.”

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Dear Maj Jolly, thank you so much for pointing this out. We’ll take utmost  care while filming. I’m very proud and honoured to be making Gorkha. Any suggestions to get it closest to reality would be most appreciated.”

While revealing the first look of his movie, Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha - on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Honoured to essay the role of an icon and present this special film. Directed By - @sanjaypchauhan”.

Meanwhile, other than ‘Gorkha’, Akshay Kumar will also be seen featuring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Mission Cinderella’ and ‘OMG – Oh My God! 2’.
