Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have started shooting for the remaining sequences of their upcoming film.

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt, who was last seen in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Sadak 2', has resumed shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The upcoming film has been making waves ever since the makers unveiled the first poster earlier this year. We had earlier informed you that SLB is planning to shoot the remaining sequences of the flick from October 2020. As per the latest buzz, the 'Padmaavat' director, Alia Bhatt and film's team have started shooting for the night sequences, which couldn't be completed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. A 50-member team has been picked up to finish Alia's scenes in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi. TV actor and 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 8' winner Shantanu Maheshwari has already wrapped up the shoot of his song before the lockdown was announced. "To maintain continuity, Sanjay sir picked up the shoot exactly from where he had left it. Since October 1, Alia and the team have been reporting to the set by 7 pm, and the stint goes on till the wee hours of the morning. Although a part of the grand set had been pulled down ahead of the monsoons, the portion resembling Kamathipura had been left untouched. So, the director has been able to shoot without any hiccup," a source told Mid-Day. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's crime novel 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'. Alia will be seen in the role of a madam of a brothel in Kamathipura in the much-awaited movie. Her first look had created a lot of buzz among the movie buffs.
Speculations are rife that TV heartthrob Parth Samthaan will make his Bollywood debut with 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. Although the production house and the 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2' actor are yet to issue an official statement, gossip mills suggest a different story. Talking about Alia, the 'Kalank' actress will soon start shooting for SS Rajamouli's next titled 'RRR'. She took to social media to give the fans a glimpse of the film's sets. The 'Gully Boy' actress shared the video along with the caption, "So so looking forward to joining the team."
'Gangubai Kathiawadi' was originally slated to hit the silver screens on September 11, 2020. The makers are yet to announce a new release date. ALSO READ | SSR Case: 'Agenda Driven Campaign To Malign Us,’ Mumbai Top Cop Tells ABP News; 80K Fake Accounts Identified Watch this space for more updates!
