SRK's Son Aryan Khan To Remain In Jail Till Oct 20 As Court Reserves Bail Order In Cruise Drugs Case

A Mumbai Court has reserved the order for October 20 on the bail application of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan in connection with an alleged rave party case.

Mumbai: A Sessions Court in Mumbai on Thursday (October 14) reserved its order for October 20 on the bail application of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaz Seth Merchant in connection with the seizure of drugs on a Goa-bound cruise.

After hearing the arguments between the NCB lawyers and advocates of the accused, Special Judge V.V. Patil kept his verdict, in abeyance for the next five days, according to a report in IANS.

Aryan, Munmun, Arbaz were among the eight, who were detained and later arrested following a raid on a luxury cruise on October 2. The lawyers of the trio filed a bail plea in the special NDPS court after a magistrate court didn't grant them bail and remanded them to 14-day judicial custody.

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, who represented the NCB, told the court that Aryan was a 'regular consumer of drugs' and he shouldn't be granted bail just because no contraband was found from him.

He submitted evidence that showed that Aryan Khan was a consumer of drugs since the past few years.

"The record in the panchnama signed by the applicant establishes that he was in conscious position of contraband because he admits it was with his friend and it was for consumption of both of them," Singh told court as quoted as saying by Bar and Bench.

Aryan Khan To Remain In Judicial Custody For Next Five Days

The star kid will continue to stay in jail as court will pronounce the verdict on the bail applications on Wednesday (October 20). Earlier in the day, Aryan and other male accused in the alleged rave party case were shifted to common cell of Arthur Road Central Jail from quarantine barrack after their COVID-19 report came out as positive.

Why Was Aryan Khan Arrested?

Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan's elder son was arrested by the NCB on October 2 after the officials conducted a raid on a cruise ship and recovered drugs. Aryan was booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) including 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28 and 29, as per a report in Bar and Bench.

A Mumbai court sent Aryan to NCB custody till October 4, which was further extended till October 7. His lawyer Satish Maneshinde filed a bail application after he was remanded to judicial custody on grounds of maintainability. Maneshinde moved the special court to seek bail for Aryan after Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar didn't grant him bail.
