Drugs Case: Court Sends Arjun Rampal's Friend Paul Bartel To Judicial Custody; Actor At NCB Office For Interrogation

The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Arjun Rampal's Australian friend Paul Bartel on November 13 in a drugs-related case.

New Delhi: In connection to the investigation of the alleged use of drugs in Bollywood, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided actor Arjun Rampal’s premises on November 9. Reportedly, his electronic gadgets like mobile, laptop and tablets have also been seized by the agency. His girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades has also been questioned by the agency on Wednesday and Thursday for more than six hours. Paul has been booked by the agency in the same case as Rhea Chakraborty and 20 others who have been arrested by NCB in the past few months. Paul Bartel is an architect living in Bandra. According to a report in ANI, asSpecial NDPS Court has sent Paul Bartel to judicial custody till November 25 in the drug related case.

Meanwhile, Rampal arrived at the NCB office for his interrogation earlier today in relation to the drugs case. According to a report of IANS, the actor will be questioned about his drug usage and his connection with drug peddlers. The central agency has also arrested Arjun’s live-in partner Gabriella Demetriades’ brother Agisialos Demetriades after seizing Hashish and Alprazolam tablets from him. Agisialos has been booked in the same case as Rhea Chakraborty. The agency revealed that he was also in touch with several drug peddlers who have been arrested in the case. Shabana Saeed, who is the wife of film producer Firoz Nadiadwala was also arrested after conducting a raid at the producer’s residence on November 8. Reportedly, ganja was recovered at their home in Juhu and his wife Shabana was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The NCB issued a notice to Shabana Saeed under section 67 of the NDPS Act and arrested her after recording her statement. "Firoz Nadiadwala's wife Shabana Saeed was issued a notice under section 67 of the NDPS Act. She was arrested after her statement was recorded," officials told PTI. Shabana has now been granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 on Monday. According to a report of PTI, her lawyer argued before additional chief judicial magistrate A H Kashiskar that her client was not a drug peddler and only a small quantity of drug was seized from her place. He also told the court that Shabana Saeed is separated from Firoz Nadiadwala and has to take care of her children. Several narcotics drugs supplier and peddlers have been arrested by the agency so far. Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty has also been arrested by NCB. Rhea has been granted bail last month.
