Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has joined the ensemble cast of Sunny Deol starrer 'Border 2'.
Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh will play a 'Fauji' in the upcoming film ‘Border 2’. The announcement was shared by Sunny Deol, who will play the lead role in the movie. The news was posted to Instagram along with an intriguing video that read,"The bravest of the brave come together for the biggest war."

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Sunny Deol posted the brief clip with the caption, "Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2 IN."

Diljit Dosanjh also posted the clip on his Instagram handle with the caption, "Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team IN and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!"
In the teaser video, Diljit can be heard saying, “Iss desh ki taraf uthne vali har nazar, jhuk jaati hai khauf se, inn sarhado par jab guru ke paas pehra dete hain.”

Actor Varun Dhawan, in the same role as Diljit Dosanjh, has also been added to the 'Border 2' cast.
Border 2 announcement
After 27 years of the release of ‘Border’, the highly anticipated sequel was announced on June 13, 2024. The first installment starred Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry.
Sunny Deol recalled the pledge made 27 years ago in the movie's announcement video. "Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming," he said.

‘Border 2’ is produced by J.P. Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is slated to release on January 23, 2026.
