Coronavirus: Harvey Weinstein Tests Positive For COVID-19 While In Prison

Ex Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 23 years in a New York state prison on the charges of sexual assault and third-degree rape.

New Delhi: After Tom Hanks, Idris Elba & 'Game of Thrones' actor Kristofer Hivju, another Hollywood celebrity has tested Coronavirus positive. Yes, you read that right! Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who is currently in prison, is one of the two inmates at Wende Correctional Facility in Washington, USA who have tested positive for COVID-19. According to latest reports, he has been put in isolation in New York state prison. The local newspaper based in Niagara Falls cites "officials connected to the state prison system," as their sources who revealed that Weinstein has tested positive for the virus but spoke to the paper anonymously since they were not authorized to speak on condition of the Oscar-winning movie producer. Speaking about Harvey Weinstein, sources informed the daily that he entered the state prison system last Wednesday and was already COVID-19 infected by the time. Before that, Harvey was being monitored for high blood pressure and a heart condition at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. When Variety asked, the spokesperson for Weinstein said he had no positive details about Weinstein testing for COVID-10. When asked if Weinstein has tested positive for COVID-19, Weinstein's jail consultant said: "No one on the legal defense team has been told this. Period. We cannot confirm that, nor care to comment on speculation."
