Mumbai: Chunky Pandey’s mother and Ananya Panday’s grandmother Snehlata Pandey passed away on Saturday (July 10) after suffering a heart attack. She was 85. A source close to the family told ABP News that Snehlata took her last breath at around 12 noon at Panday’s Khar residence in Mumbai.  

Snehlata’s sons Chunky and Chikki Pandey, grandson Ahaan Pandey were present at home when she suffered a heart attack. Neelam Kothari, who is a close friend of Chunky and Bhavana Panday, visited their house to offer her condolence to the family. Neelam’s husband Sameer Soni, Congress leader Bhai Jagtap and Baba Siddiqui also paid their last respect to Snehlata. 

Ananya Panday was shooting for a talk show in Mumbai when her grandmother left for her heavenly abode. After completing the shoot, she rushed to her grandmother’s house to catch her last glimpse. Snehlata’s mortal remains were taken to Santa Cruz’s crematorium via ambulance for the last rites after Ananya paid her last respect. 

Ananya, who shared a close bond with her grandmother, had shared a post to wish Snehlata on her 83rd birthday in 2019. The ‘Student Of The Year’ actress posted a video wherein her grandmother was seen dancing on ‘The Jawani Song’. 

On the occasion of Women’s Day 2021, Ananya shared a photo with her grandmother and talked about her importance in her life.  She wrote, "The epitome of grace, beauty, perseverance, humour, badass energy and boss woman vibes, my Dadi and Nani - happy Women’s day to my best and happy Women’s day to all the lovely ladies out there - you are so very special and everything you need is right inside of you. I love you guys u rock."
