Budget 2019: 'Total Dhamaal' producer Anand Pandit says single-window clearance for Indian filmmakers will be a game changer

New Delhi: Giving a massive boost to the entertainment industry, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, while presenting the Interim Budget announced the introduction of anti-camcording provisions to control the menace of privacy and a single-window clearance for Indian filmmakers to shoot their films. The provision was earlier available only to international filmmakers. Welcoming the move, 'Total Dhamaal' producer Anand Pandit said that the single-clearance window will turn out to be a game changer for the makers. He also said that the move to introduce anti-camcording provision to the Cinematograph Act will help in curtailing film privacy. Producers Guild of India welcomes Union Budget 2019 provisions for film industry "It's a budget that has brought cheer all around and all the credit goes to the PM Shri Narendra Modi ji and Piyush Goyal ji. The single window clearance will be a game-changer for filmmakers and producers like myself  since it will curtail the time and effort that goes into the laborious process of seeking clearances from several ports. It's a great move and  will augur well for the industry. By bringing in moves to eradicate the menace of piracy, the Govt has acknowledged the big concern that filmmakers have given the time, money and creativity that goes into producing an original piece of work," Anand told ABP News.
