B-Town celebs give thumbs up to judiciary on Nirbhaya verdict!

Most in Bollywood took to Twitter to give a thumbs up to the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the death sentence against the accused in the December 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case Mammootty becomes grandfather; Dulquer Salmaan blessed with a baby girl! However, some gave mixed reactions too. The reactions are as follows: Priyanka Chopra has penned an emotionally touching note after the Supreme Court confirmed the death sentences of all four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang- rape case. The Indian actress says she is "proud" of the justice system. "Nirbhaya verdict.Justice prevails.Being in a civil society,in this case,"Public Hanging" was needed to set an example for an everyday menace," tweeted Rishi Kapoor. Varun Dhawan shared, "Even hanging the 4 criminals is not enough justice but it should serve as a reminder that how india deals with this crime #Nirbhayaverdict." The 'Pink' star Taapsee Pannu wrote, "At last,justice delayed is not always justice denied! Wish there was a more cruel way to make em feel the pain they evoked #Nirbhayaverdict." Actress Raveena Tandon tweeted, "May her tears flow No more..may the mothers daughter finally rest in peace..may all evil know there is a price to pay." The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the earlier order of death sentence to four convicts involved in the December 16, 2012 gang rape case. In December 16, 2012, six people gang raped a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern in a moving bus. The woman succumbed to her injuries in a Singapore hospital on December 29, 2012. ‘Casino Royale’ star Daliah Lavi passes away at 74 One of the accused, Ram Singh hanged himself in prison, while another person, who was a juvenile at the time of the crime, was convicted in August last year and will serve the maximum sentence of three years in a reform home. The next option for the convicts is to appeal against their death sentence to President Pranab Mukherjee. (ANI)
