Anurag Thakur, Minister Of Information & Broadcasting, On How Films From South Have Become An International Phenomenon

Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur addressed the parliament where he was seen mentioning 'Kantara', a film that represented Indian culture on a global front

New Delhi: Hombale Films 'Kantara' indeed arrived as a game changer for not just the South film industry but for the entire nation. Offering a visual grandeur that brought alive the traditional culture of Kambala and Bhoota Kola art form, the film very brilliantly brought the story from the heartlands of India to the forefront that made the Indian cinema own its presence on the global front. Evidence of its impact has recently been witnessed when Anurag Thakur, Minister, of Information and Broadcasting during his speech in the parliament assembly about the successful passage of The Cinematograph (Amendment Bill) 2023 in the Rajya Sabha, which also got passed in the Lok Sabha, he used Kantara as an example to state the fact that how our Indian cinema has been getting major recognition on the global front. 

Recently, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur was addressing the parliament where he was seen mentioning Kantara, a film that represented Indian culture and took the name of the nation on the global front. During his speech, the honorable Minister of Information and Broadcasting mentioned how films like Kantara gave strength to Indian cinema by earning great recognition not just in India but across the world. He also mentioned that the film gave major recognition to the South industry that they have been demanding for a long time. 

 

Rishab Shetty being the director, writer, and actor of Kantara gave the nation one of the biggest hits of 2022. The film emerged as a commercial success being 2022's forth highest-grossing film in India. While the audience and many dignitaries of India praised the film, the Prime Minister of India, the Honourable Narendra Modi also acknowledged the film. Moreover, after paving a successful path on the big screen, the film was also released on OTT and booked its success in the OTT arena as well. 

Moreover, recently, Hombale Films dropped a thrilling teaser of their upcoming Prashanth Neel's directorial 'Salaar' starring Prabhas which is all set for its release on September 28, 2023.
