In a terrible disaster, at least 50 people watching the burning of a Ravan effigy from a railway track were crushed by a speeding train in Amritsar, Punjab a couple of hours ago on Friday, triggering anger in the area and nationwide outrage. The tragic accident took place near Amritsar’s Jora Phatak on Friday, 19 October. DMU train number 74943 ran into people gathered near railway tracks watching the Dussehra celebrations around 7 pm. Bollywood celebs too are saddened by the tragedy and have come forward to offer their condolences to the bereaved families on Twitter. Ajay Devgn was one of the first celebs to tweet about the tragedy. He took to Twitter and wrote, "Pained to hear about the Amritsar train tragedy. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families." A host of other Bollywood celebs including Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, Diana Penty, Diljit Dosanjh and many others to mourn the tragic loss, here's how the celebs reacted on the accident: According to reports, the victimes reportedly could not hear the hooting of the train due to the exploding crackers. Witnesses said the dead included children. There were reportedly around 700 people at the accident spot. It took just about 10 to 15 seconds for the train to pass -- and leave behind a heap of crushed and dismembered bodies.
