Akshay Kumar Shares Quirky Birthday Post For ‘Raksha Bandhan’ Co-Star Bhumi Pednekar

Mumbai: Bhumi Pednekar celebrates her birthday today. Breaking stereotypes, the ‘Bala’ actress started her career by portraying the role of an overweight bride in the 2015 film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. Since then, the actress has featured in several movies including ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, ‘Sonchiriya’, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ and others.
As the actress turns a year older today, many celebrities including Ayushmann Khurrana, Anushka Sharma, Ananya Panday showered love for the ‘Durgamati’ actress on her special day.
Bhumi’s co-star from her upcoming movie ‘Raksha Bandhan’ also wished the actress on her birthday. Akshay Kumar shared a quirky picture with Bhumi Pednekar where he can be spotted trying to make her laugh. The ‘Bachchan Pandey’ actor’s caption for the post read, “Trying my best to make the birthday girl smile. She’s clearly realised she’s turned a year older today Don’t worry Bhumi, hopefully you’re getting wiser as well Happy birthday @bhumipednekar”.
Replying to this post, Bhumi Pednekar commented, “Sir You are pure”.
Before starting her career as a leading actress, Bhumi worked as an assistant casting director with Yash Raj Films for 6 years under Shanoo Sharma.
Bhumi Pednekar was last seen featuring in the movie ‘Durgamati’ where she portrayed the lead character of IAS Chanchal Singh Chauhan. The movie was released on Amazon Prime Video and received mixed reviews from critics.
The ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ will be next seen featuring in ‘Badhaai Do’ opposite Rajkummar Rao. This movie is the spiritual sequel to the 2018 film ‘Badhaai Ho’ which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri in pivotal roles. Bhumi will also be seen featuring opposite Akshay Kumar in the comedy-drama film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ directed by Aanand L. Rai.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar will be next seen featuring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
