Akshay Kumar's Fans Trend #AkshayThePrideOfIndia After Twitter Gets Flooded With #BoycottLaxmmiBomb Tweets

The hashtag #BoycottLaxmmiBomb trended on social media after several users slammed Akshay Kumar's upcoming film.

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar starrer 'Laxmmi Bomb' has been hogging all the limelight ever since the trailer of the film was unveiled. The trailer of the much-awaited flick reportedly garnered over 70 million views within 24 hours, becoming the most viewed trailer in India in a day. While movie buffs are excited for the horror comedy drama, a certain section of Twitter users trended the hashtag #BoycottLaxmmiBomb on the micro-blogging site. Akshay Kumar reportedly plays the role of Asif while his leading lady Kiara Advani is playing the character of a girl named Priya. This has caught the attention of some users, who have slammed the actors and producers on social media. Another section of users have expressed their displeasure over the film's title as they believe it insults Hindi Goddess Laxmi. Amid the hullabaloo, the 'Rustom' actor's fans trended the hashtag #AkshayThePrideOfIndia in response to the recent negative trend against Khiladi Kumar. "Natural Disasters- @akshaykumar is there for you. Support Martyrs: #AkshayKumar is there for you. Support Farmers: He has adopted so many villages across India. Any Ex-Colleague from Industry facing crisis: He will be the first one to stand up," one user tweeted.
Another user wrote, "@akshaykumar is such a good person & a most talented actor..so kind and precious. He really deserves only love. He worked so hard since d beginning, he struggled so much unlike star kids. People don't understand how low they are going by hating a gem."
One user urged others to stop defaming the 'self-made' stars. The tweet read, "Stop Defaming Selfmade Stars. Whenever any crisis happens in country, be it pandemic, flood or any disasters,, these two people comes ahead first, then Bollywood... Don't misunderstand true patriots on the basis of fake misleading datas."
'Laxmmi Bomb', which is the Hindi remake of Tamil hit 'Muni: Kanchana 2', will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar on November 9, 2020. Akshay has promised the audience to treat them with a Diwali dhamaka. The film has been directed by Raghava Lawrence who helmed the Tamil flick. 'Laxmmi Bomb' co-starring Ayesha Raza Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar and Rajesh Sharma was originally slated to hit the silver screens on Eid 2020. It is one of the biggest films to premiere on a leading OTT platform. Several Bollywood celebs including Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Vaani Kapoor have praised the film's trailer.
