Cannes 2024: Cannes is in the midst of a controversy after reports claiming that a security officer harassed K-pop idol YoonA with racial remarks. After Kelly Rowland and Dominican actress Massiel Taveras got into a dispute on the red carpet, YoonA was allegedly singled out by the guard, which made it difficult for her to pose for pictures at the event.

Girl Generation member YoonA walked the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. She opted for a pink gown for the event. Although the Korean singer made an appearance a few days ago, her video became public following Kelly Rowland's fight with the female security on duty. The former member of Destiny's Child opened up about the incident later on, even blaming it on racial issues. Now, fans have found another video that supposedly shows YoonA getting the same treatment. The South Korean celebrity was clearly irritated and uneasy on the red carpet.

While other American stars at the time were on the red carpet to pose for some time, the K-pop idol turned actress was chased away by the female staffer as she tried to pose on the Cannes stairs.

Kelly Rowland Cannes incident 

Kelly Rowland's video from Cannes went viral on social media. After the incident, the singer opened up about her outrage on the red carpet. In an interview with AP, the she said, “The woman knows what happened. I know what happened and I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it.”

She added, “And there were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off. I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers, but I stood my ground.”

After Massiel Taveras, encountered the same treatment and was seen pushing the female security guard when she refused to unwrap her outfot to reveal Christ's work on it, attention was drawn to the 'mistreatment'.

Dominican actress Massiel Taveras graced the red carpet in a white gown with a long train with Christ photo. She was caught in a heated arguement with the same security guard involved in Kelly Rowland and YoonA’s incident. On the viral video, Taveras can be seen in the video pushing the female security guard, who appears to be trying to stop her from posing for photographers.
