Final Destination Bloodlines Crushes Mission Impossible 8 In India: A Box Office Shocker

Final Destination: Bloodlines stuns the Indian box office with ₹22.10 Cr, beating Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 8. See how this horror hit is stealing screens and outpacing Marvel titles in 2025!

Two major Hollywood releases, 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' and 'Final Destination: Bloodlines', are currently dominating the global box office. Despite massive expectations from the Tom Cruise-led action blockbuster, it appears that in India, 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' has emerged as a strong contender, standing tall against the high-octane franchise.

Mission Impossible 8 vs Bloodlines India box office

'Mission: Impossible 8' released two days ahead of its global debut in India, giving it a head start. However, 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' is proving to be stiff competition. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, 'Bloodlines' collected ₹22.10 crore in its four-day opening weekend in India alone—a remarkable feat for a horror film, a genre that traditionally sees modest earnings in the region. This figure is nearly double the opening weekend numbers of recent Marvel titles like 'Captain America: Brave New World'.

Initially, trade experts believed that exhibitors would reduce the screen count for 'Bloodlines' in favor of 'Mission: Impossible', given Tom Cruise’s massive pull. However, due to its strong performance, Bloodlines has now secured additional screens. Industry insiders suggest that the film could continue to perform well through the week, especially as horror films generally don’t experience steep Monday drops.

Final Destination: Bloodlines Worldwide Box Office

As of May 2025, the Final Destination franchise has amassed over $768 million globally, reinforcing its status as one of the most successful horror series of all time. The latest installment, Final Destination: Bloodlines, released on May 16, 2025, delivered a record-breaking opening weekend with $102 million worldwide—$51 million from domestic markets and another $51 million internationally. This marks the highest debut in the franchise’s history.

Fourteen years after the last installment, Bloodlines has revitalized the series with strong critical acclaim, boasting a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Previous entries like The Final Destination (2009) and Final Destination 5 (2011) earned $186 million and $157 million respectively, showcasing the franchise’s long-standing popularity. With its suspenseful storytelling and inventive death sequences, the series continues to captivate horror enthusiasts around the world.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Early Box Office Performance

As of May 19, 2025, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has earned $12 million from early international markets, including India, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. In India alone, the film opened strong with ₹33 crore (approximately $4 million) in just its first two days—making it the highest opening for a Hollywood film in the country this year.

In South Korea, the film attracted over 750,000 moviegoers and generated $5 million in its opening weekend. With a massive production budget of $400 million, Paramount Pictures is aiming for a global box office haul exceeding $1 billion to ensure profitability. Given its strong early numbers and positive buzz, the film is well-positioned to meet its ambitious box office goals.
