Sobhita Dhulipala's old video goes viral: Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got engaged on Thursday in Hyderabad confirming their relationship rumours. Amid the engagement news, an old video of the actress from her early days in beauty pageants has resurfaced on Reddit. The video captures Sobhita answering a question posed by actress Asin Thottumkal, who was one of the judges at the event.

In the clip, Asin asks Sobhita, “Being an independent young woman of today, do you think the state government or the colleges have the right to impose a dress code and tell you what to wear and what not to wear? What is your opinion?” 

With a confident smile, Sobhita responds, “I do not think that colleges or state government have the right to impose restrictions on uniforms because a deficiency in moral policy cannot be compensated by imposing insensible rules that only take away freedom.”

Sobhita on her pageant experience

Sobhita had earlier shared about her pageant experience in an interview with PTI. “My friend was interning at the Miss India office and asked me to go for an audition. I just wanted to clear one basic round to show it to my friends. ‘I’m in this mind space and I can do this, losers’. I cleared the first round and then I wanted to do more. For the first time in my life, I was getting attention. I was very awkward with myself, I was so lame… But Miss India did more damage to my self-esteem. It took me more away from me because you’re reduced to someone who’s entertaining, who is pleasing,” she said.

Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya's engagement took place at Nagarjuna’s residence in Hyderabad. Nagarjuna took to X to announce the engagement with the pictures of the couple. He wrote, “ “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love."
