Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who have been at the center of relationship rumours for quite some time, have officially taken their relationship to the next level. The couple got engaged today, with Chaitanya’s father, the legendary actor Nagarjuna, sharing the first pictures from the engagement ceremony on social media. 

Nagarjuna took to X to post a heartfelt note for the newly engaged couple, along with the photos. He wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love."

How the rumours started

In October 2021, Chaitanya ended his four-year marriage with actress Samantha. Just a few months later, in 2022, Chaitanya was seen with Sobhita at his Hyderabad residence. Reports indicated that they were quite comfortable in each other's company, fueling rumours as they reportedly left together in one car. 

Spotted in London

In March 2023 Sobhita was spotted in the background of a photo shared by Michelin Star Chef Surender Mohan at his London restaurant. While the chef posed with Chaitanya, sharp-eyed netizens noticed Sobhita at a nearby table. Reports suggested that their shared love for fast cars and Formula 1 initially brought them together, and it was during this London holiday that they realized their feelings for each other. 

Jungle safari pictures

In April 2024, Sobhita posted pictures from a jungle safari, including selfies and shots taken by someone beside her on the jeep. The next day, Chaitanya shared a photo of himself enjoying the sunset on a safari jeep. Fans quickly connected the dots. 

European getaway

In May 2024, Sobhita and Chaitanya went on a vacation to Europe. Although they kept their relationship private, a photo of them enjoying a wine-tasting session emerged online, along with a clip of them strolling through the streets with shopping bags. These glimpses further fueled speculation about their relationship. 

The engagement 

Sobhita and Chaitanya got engaged today in an intimate ceremony. For the engagement, Sobhita donned a gorgeous peach silk saree and decked up in traditional gold jewellery. She also wore peach flowers in her hair. Meanwhile, Chay complemented her in an all-white outfit.
