Popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja is making a special appearance to pitch his whey protein brand. Impressively, his partner revealed that despite their website being password-protected, they achieved a staggering Rs 1 crore in sales within just one hour.
The Shark Tank promo kicks off with Vineeta Singh, CEO and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics, curiously asking her fellow sharks about the next contestant. Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal, reveals, “It’s Flying Beast, the influencer.” Singh, visibly surprised, says, “Gaurav Taneja?! He’s coming?” Bahl nods in response, and the teaser shifts to Taneja stepping onto the stage with a beaming smile.
“Sharks, these days all founders want to become influencers. I’m not sure where the urge comes from,” Taneja remarks, sparking a quick-witted reply from Singh, “And influencers want to become founders!”
Speaking of Beast Life, Taneja’s team member claimed that Beast Life got Rs 1 crore in sales within just one hour of launching. “That is a dream for a lot of businesses,” says Aman Gupta, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of electronics brand boAt Lifestyle.
In the promo, Kunal Bahl curiously asks Gaurav Taneja,“Generally, IIT-ians go to Google, Facebook etc or go for start-ups. How come your trajectory is different?” Aman Gupta chimes in, ““These days a lot of influencers are floating brands.” Peyush Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Lenskart, follows up with, “What is the kind of income an influencer can generate today?”
Vineeta Singh jumps in with a playful challenge, “You earned Rs 1 crore in 1 hour, then what are you doing here asking for Rs 1 crore (for 1 per cent equity).”
Responding to the sharks’ questions, Taneja passionately explains, “Just like the ‘Beast’ in the name ‘Beast Life’, my everything is in this. If this fails, I can’t create another one (brand). This is my life.”
Gaurav Taneja’s primary YouTube channel, Flying Beast, commands an impressive 9.27 million subscribers, while his Instagram following stands at 3.6 million. His business-centric page, Beast Life, has already attracted 1.25 lakh followers, reflecting his strong digital influence even before his appearance on Shark Tank India 4.
