In a video circulating on social media, Sunita spoke to reporters about Govinda’s condition, revealing that he has been advised to rest. She stated, “He is completely fine. He has been told to rest, which is why he won’t be celebrating Diwali this year. So, it’s just me and the kids celebrating.”
Govinda injury
On October 1, Govinda was injured when his licensed firearm accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it at their home in Juhu. The incident resulted in a bullet wound to his leg, leading to immediate medical attention. He was rushed to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu, where he received treatment for his injuries. Fortunately, his condition stabilized, and he was discharged from the hospital on October 4.
Speaking to the media outside the hospital, Govinda, who appeared in a wheelchair, expressed his gratitude to his fans and supporters. “I thank everyone from the country for their love, prayers, and support. Special thanks to the administration, police, and honorable Shinde Ji. Your blessings have kept me safe. Thank you so much for your love. Jai Mata Di!” he stated.
Govinda's statement on his injury
Reflecting on the accident, Govinda recounted the shock he felt at the time. “Pray for me. It was a deep injury, and when it happened, I could not believe it. It felt surreal. I was preparing to leave for a show in Kolkata early in the morning around 5… it fell and misfired… I was stunned, and then I saw a fountain of blood,” he explained.
Govinda also mentioned that his doctor was by his side during the hospital visit, underscoring the seriousness of the incident. Despite the challenging circumstances, he remains optimistic and grateful for the support he has received during his recovery.
