Ashutosh Rana Recalls Renuka Shahane Gifted His First Car During Their Courtship

Ashutosh Rana said that his now-wife, Renuka Shahane, had surprised him with a car when they were dating.

Ashutosh Rana got married to Renuka Shahane in 2001. The actor recounted an incident during their courtship in which Renuka gave him a car as a present. Mashable India's 'The Bombay Journey' recently featured the actor, and he discussed his passion for cars, particularly SUVs. He said that after the debut of 'Dushman' (1998), he began to consider purchasing his very first car. 

He shared, “Coincidentally, I got nominated for the Filmfare. I got nominated for the Best Villain/Actor in a Negative Role (for ‘Dushman’). I used to live in Chembur. I told Dadda Ji (his Guru), now I have to go to the Filmfare, should I buy a car now? He said, ‘Why son if you go by cycle, will you not be given the award?’ I became quiet. Then, 6-7 days before the Filmfare, he called and said Son which is the biggest car at the moment? I said Honda City.”

He said that his now-wife, Renuka Shahane, had surprised him with a car when they were dating.

He said, “That time Renuka was our friend. The shoot of ‘Sangharsh’ (1999) had started and we were shooting in Chandivali. We got to know that Renuka Ji bought a brand-new car. She reached there and said this is for you. She said this is your car and this is a gift from my side while she was my friend. I mean we were romantically involved.”

The actor also revealed that he gifted Renuka a Lancer in return. 

Renuka Shahane Gifted Pajero to Ashutosh Rana on His 40th Birthday

Ashutosh Rana also shared that when his 40th birthday was approaching, he felt like buying a red and white Pajero. He said, “I think this is from 2007 and on the 8th of November, I was sitting and thinking that I should buy a Pajero. I like the red and white Pajero very much.”

He shared, “On the 10th of November (his birthday), I woke up and started going to the gym. I asked the house help where is Tai (Renuka)? She said, ‘Tai went in the morning, you were sleeping’.

He added, “I got out and saw a red and white Pajero parked and Renuka Ji was sitting on its front seat. I said what did you do. She say nothing. It came to my mind on the 8th of November and I told them that I would make the down payment but I wanted the delivery of the car on the 10th. In a hurry, they said we would deliver on the 10th.”
