Aamir Khan Gives An Update On ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Shares How Ira And Junaid Khan Stopped Him From Quitting Acting

In a recent podcast, Aamir Khan admitted that he was on the verge to quit acting when filming of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' began.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently discussed how he was on the verge of quitting acting due to the financial failure of the 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. Aamir Khan, who took full responsibility, thought a lot about what went wrong with the film. The Advait Chandan film had great expectations from its audience. However, moviegoers were disappointed since it fell short of their expectations. Taking full responsibility for Laal Singh Chaddha's failure, Aamir Khan continued his optimistic attitude for his next project 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.

On a recent podcast with Rhea Chakraborty, Aamir Khan talked about his personal and professional front. In an honest conversation, the 59-year-old actor discussed the underwhelming box office results of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, his part in it, and the lessons he took away from it.

Aamir admitted that he was on the verge of quitting acting when filming of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' began. The actor said, "Jab maine Sitaare Zameen Par shuru ki toh ki us mood mein kiya ki koi baat nahi…aur Sitaare abhi complete ho gayi hai. Sitaare mein bohat mazaa aaya kaam karke. Bahot kamaal ki film hai (Sitaare Zameen Par is now complete. I loved working on the film. It’s a great movie).”

Instead of giving up, Aamir's daughter Ira Khan proposed a solution, saying that he could strike a balance between his professional and family life. His son Junaid Khan also cautioned him against giving up acting altogether.

Aamir shared, "When I told them three (Ira and Junaid) years ago that I am quitting films, their reaction according to me was, ‘Papa, how will you quit films? You've been involved like crazy for the past 30 years. You must be emotional right now and saying this. But you will not be able to do it’.”
