The Prime Minister also said that BJP in UP means control over dangaraj, mafiaraj, gundaraj and freedom to celebrate all the festivals.

New Delhi: Days ahead of the third phasing polling in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed a rally in Sitapur where he urged people of the state to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in order to get Centre's welfare schemes at a double speed.

He also said that having a BJP government in Uttar Pradesh means control over rioters, 'mafia raj' and 'goonda raj' which was prevalent during previous regimes.

"A BJP government in UP means freedom to celebrate festivals, safety of sisters and daughters. Our government here means continuous work for the welfare of the poor and double speed work on Centre's schemes," he said.

In his address, PM Modi also said that throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, BJP remained focused on one thing that such a day should not come in the house of a poor so that the stove of the house is not burnt.

"We have been awake so that no one should go to bed hungry in the house of the poor," he said adding that Yogi Adityanath's government is spending more than 2.60 lakh crore for welfare of poor in the state.

"Every grain of the poor's ration, which the mafia used to loot earlier, is reaching the poor's house today," the Prime Minister said further.

Boasting Centre's vaccination drive, PM Modi pointed out that Coronavirus jab is being administered at a very high cost in foreign countries, but for the BJP government in India, the life of the countrymen is precious.

"Will empty the government treasury, but will keep the vaccine delivered from door to door," PM Modi said.

"During the pandemic, the poor have also got a lot of benefit from the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Those who earlier could not even think of treatment in a good hospital, today he is getting free treatment there," PM Modi added.

He also said that the double engine government in the state is working to empower the poor, to make UP an Uttam Pradesh with double power.

It was the dream of poor, backward, dalit brothers and sisters that they too should have their own house. The BJP government has built 34 lakh pucca houses in UP and given them to the poor in 5 years.
