Telangana's First BJP CM Will Be A Candidate From Backward Class: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people of Telangana to overthrow the BRS government of KCR and elect the BJP to power.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday exuded confidence that the BJP will form the government in Telangana after December 3. He said that the first BJP CM of Telangana will be a member of a Backward Caste community. Addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, PM Modi said: "This land, this ground holds a very big place in my life. In 2013, you all had invited me to this very ground..In a way, the foundation for making Modi the Prime Minister was laid here. Today, I can confidently say that the first CM of BJP will be a CM from BC (backward caste) from here."

PM Modi accused the incumbent BRS government of being anti-development and 'anti-backward class'. "There is an anti-SC/ST government in Telangana. On November 30, you shall have the chance to overthrow this government and ensure that the lotus [BJP's poll symbol] blooms here."

In election-bound Telangana, he also assailed the governing BRS and the major opposition Congress, claiming the grand old party and KCR's party share three DNA traits: dynasty, corruption, and appeasement. He went on to say that Congress is the 'C' squad of BRS. "Congress is 'C' team of BRS. Congress and BRS have three things in common in their DNA: dynasty, corruption and appeasement," he stated.

After a nine-year hiatus, PM Modi graced the dais with actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) head Pawan Kalyan at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad for the 'BC Atma Gourava' (Backward Caste self-respect) public assembly.

"I understand poverty, lived in poverty and decided that I would not let poor children sleep without food. Today 80 crore people are being given free ration and I have decided that this free ration scheme will be extended for the next 5 years," said PM Modi.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi slammed the Congress, claiming that the party never forgets to bash him and that it even rejected the nomination of the country's first tribal woman President Droupadi Murmu.

He was speaking at an electoral rally in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, where assembly elections will be place on November 17.

"Congress never forgets to abuse me daily...It even opposed the election of the country's first tribal woman President as it is only interested in the vote bank of tribals and not their welfare. The party also did not attend the swearing-in of the country's first Dalit chief information commissioner (CIC) despite getting an invitation in advance," he had stated.
