Earlier, KTR tweeted, "Congratulations to Congress party on winning the mandate. Wishing you Good Luck."
As per the latest figures available with the Election Commission, the Congress had won 13 seats and was leading in 50 in Telangana, while the ruling BRS won 7 and was leading on 39 seats at 4:30 PM. The BJP seems to have shown marginal improvement in its seats tally, winning 1 seat and leading on 9. The BJP won 5 constituencies in the last assembly polls of the total 119 seats, while the Congress won 7. The BRS bagged 99 seats in the 2018 polls.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's rule of over 9 years would come to an end if Congress achieves the magic figure of 60.
Revanth Reddy is contesting from two seats — Kamareddy (against KCR) and his home constituency Kodangal in Mahabubnagar district. He is leading in both seats as per the latest trends. He also recorded a comfortable majority against outgoing Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao in Kamareddy.
Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar and other police officers earlier arrived at the residence of Reddy in Hyderabad ahead of his address to party workers.
On Sunday, Revanth Reddy held a roadshow to the party headquarters in Hyderabad. Many supporters gathered around his vehicle and cheered him along the way.
