'When We Come To Power In Telangana...': BJP's Warning To Akbaruddin Owaisi Over 'Threat' To Police Officer
AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi allegedly threatened a police officer after the latter asked him to conclude his speech on time as per Model Code of Conduct in Telangana.
New Delhi: Slamming All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for allegedly threatening a police officer during a rally in poll-bound Telangana, the BJP said be it a Congress, BRS or AIMIM leader, anyone who speaks against the country, Hindus or police, or engage in any kind of misconduct against election officers or the people will be arrested once the saffron party comes to power in the state, news agency ANI reported.
Speaking to the news agency, Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy said, “Be it a leader from the Congress, the BRS or the AIMIM…Anyone who speaks ill of the country, the Hindus, the police personnel, attacks municipal officers, election officers…once the BJP comes to power in Telangana, these people will end up in jail.”

It is to be noted that AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi allegedly threatened a police officer after the latter asked him to conclude his speech on time as per Model Code of Conduct. Owaisi asked the police officer to leave the spot and further threatened that just a signal to his supporters would result in the police official running.
Akbaruddin Owaisi is the brother of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and he is a candidate from Chandrayangutta constituency in Telangana.
Reminding Owaisi of the police's might for those on the wrong side of the law, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, “Be it Asaduddin Owaisi or Akbaruddin Owaisi, they only try to incite the people. And Akbaruddin Owaisi is the one who had asked to remove police for 15 minutes.”

In a controversial remark made in 2013, Akbaruddin Owaisi had said that if the police is removed for 15 minutes, we (Muslims) will finish 100 crore Hindus.
“There is no one above the law. Agar vardi apna kaam karne lagi toh inki saari hekdi nikal jaayegi (If the police start doing their work then their arrogance will vanish.) When the police come wearing uniform and hit 10 batons and count only one, then these people get to know their stature,” Bhatia added.
Responding to Aknaruddin Owaisi's alleged threat, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused the BRS and Congress of engaging in "appeasement politics" and said had this incident taken place in Assam, the matter would have been "settled in 5 minutes".
"If this had happened in Assam, the matter would have been settled within 5 mins. Due to appeasement politics in Telangana, neither BRS nor Congress is saying anything...If you can openly threaten the police, then people will feel threatened. I request the Election Commission to cancel his candidature," ANI quoted CM Sarma as saying.
Telangana BJP chief further added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Telangana from November 25-27 and address a roadshow in Hyderabad on November 27.
