'Stay united, do not let your vote split': Sidhu cautions Muslims in Bihar; EC seeks report

Earlier on April 11, Sidhu had slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the country will get finished if he becomes the Prime Minister for the second term.

“I want to warn my Muslim brothers that some people are trying to divide you, Navjot Singh Sidhu said at a rally in Bihar's Katihar.
“If Modi comes to power for the second term, then the country would be finished,” the Congress leader had said earlier.
Lok Sabha elections in Bihar are being held in all seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
Katihar (Bihar): Toeing the line of BSP supremo Mayawati, Punjab Minister and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also stirred a controversy by warning Muslims not to split their votes and instead defeat BJP by voting against it unitedly." His ‘communal remarks’ has out him under the scanner of the Election Commission even as Mayawati was barred from complaining for 48 hours for her speech in Deoband, where she appealed to Muslims to not vote for the Congress. "I am here to warn my Muslim brothers. They (BJP) are dividing you. By bringing people like (Asaduddin) Owaisi in here, by making a new party stand for elections, they want to divide your vote for winning. If you people unite and vote unitedly then everything will overturn and Modi will be finished,” said Sidhu while campaigning for Congress candidate Tariq Anwar. “This will be a sixer. Hit such a sixer that Modi is sent out of the boundary,” Sidhu added by invoking reference of cricket, a sport which he had retired from after playing in the national team. As the matter was brought to the notice of the Election Commission, the poll body has sought a report and a CD of Sidhu's speech from Katihar district administration.
