Rajasthan Polls: Sharad Yadav makes crass comments on CM Vasundhara Raje
Rajasthan, which has 200 assembly seats up for grabs, goes to polls on Friday, results of whom will be announced on December 11.
New Delhi: Sharad Yadav has often hit headlines for the wrong reasons and has again spewed crass remarks. The Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) leader made body-shaming comments against Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje at a rally in poll-bound Rajasthan’s Alwar district.
“Vasundhra ko aaram do, bahut thak gayi hain, bahut moti ho gayi hain, pehle patli thi. Humare Madhya Pradesh ki beti hai. (Vasundhara needs to rest. She is very tired. She has become very fat. Earlier, she was thin. She is our Madhya Pradesh’s daughter),” Yadav was heard saying in a video shared by news agency ANI.
Yadav is a repeat offender and has a history of making sexist remarks. His previously said the honour of a vote is more important than the honour of a woman.
He was grilled on social media and lambasted in the Parliament for making "dark-skinned south Indian women" comment during a debate.
The 70-year-old politician had a bitter split Nitish Kumar last year following which he was expelled from the JDU.
