Rajasthan Election: Congress releases manifesto; promises loan waiver for farmers, free education to women

Pilot said that the manifesto has been prepared after getting opinion through multiple platforms like social media in which as many as 2 lakh suggestions were received, many of which have been incorporated.

New Delhi: Congress on Thursday released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan in which it promised free education for women in the state among other promises concerning farmers and youth. Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and chairman of the manifesto committee Harish Choudhary released the party manifesto. Pilot said that the manifesto has been prepared after getting opinion through multiple platforms like social media in which as many as 2 lakh suggestions were received, many of which have been incorporated in the manifesto. Here are the key points of Congress’ manifesto for Rajasthan elections which is due on December 7: Women: “A woman can study as long as she wants to and the entire cost will be borne by the government”, said Pilot while listing out the main highlights of the manifesto. Rajasthan will become the first state which will provide complete education to women free of cost Farmers: Pilot said that the farmers of Rajasthan have suffered a lot and hence for immediate relief their loans will be waived off within a period ten days. He said that the state is undergoing a financial and agricultural crisis. If voted, the government will work to ensure that the farming equipment including tractors is brought out of the GST. Pension for old aged farmers will also be introduced. Youth: All the youths who come with their admission cards will be provided free travel to the different centres of their entrance examination. Pilot said that easy loans will be provided to people. Unemployment allowance: Party promised a monthly unemployment allowance of upto Rs 3,500 Accountability Bill: Pilot said that a provision for an accountability bill is under consideration  for NOCs, permits and other documents that a common man seeks from government is made available to him within 30 days. Pilot also said that a board will be made to resolve disputes related to grazing pastures. BJP had released its manifesto for the December 7 polls on Tuesday with a promise of up to Rs 5,000 of allowance to the unemployed people.
