PM Modi Meets With Victims From Sandeshkhali, Listens To Their Ordeal
During his Barasat visit in the North 24 Parganas district, PM Modi met with the victims from Sandeshkhali.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met with the victims from Sandeshkhali and interacted with them during his visit to Basarat in North 24 Parganas. The visibly emotional victims spoke about their ordeals which Modi listened to. Some women also complained that they were not being allowed to meet with the Prime Minister.
Modi was in Bengal's Barasat in North 24 Parganas today where he addressed a women's rally and mentioned the Sandeshkhali issue where Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan has been alleged of a land grab and sexual harassment.
Addressing the rally Modi targeted the TMC government saying that it can never provide protection to women.

"...the BJP govt has decided to award life imprisonment for heinous crimes like rape. For easy registration of women's complaints, we have arranged for a 'Women Helpine', but the TMC govt is not letting it operate in West Bengal. This TMC govt can never work for the welfare of women...," he said.

Modi alleged that the TMC is putting efforts to protect the accused in the Sandeshkhali case. "The state government has got a shock from the High Court as well as the Supreme Court. TMC leaders have done atrocities on the women of the state," he added.
"TMC has full confidence in their leader but not in the women of West Bengal...," he said.
